WRH40109 - Certificate IV in Hairdressing

 

Why study hairdressing?

The WRH40109 Certificate IV in Hairdressing has been designed for hairdresser who currently holds a WRH30109 Certificate III in Hairdressing or equivalent and wish to expand their skills and provide more specialist services.

We start classes at the beginning of every month and are taking enrolment applications every day.

Government funded positions

Study in 2011

In 2011 you are eligible for a government subsidised training place if you:

Meet one of the following citizen/residency status:

  • Australian citizen
  • Australian Permanent Resident (holder of a permanent visa)
  • Holder of a Special Category Visa (sub-class 444, New Zealand citizen)
  • East Timorese asylum seeker, or
  • Holder of a Temporary Protection Visa.

And are any of the following:

  • a young person under 20 years;
  • an applicant seeking a Foundation skills course;
  • an applicant who is an Apprentice; or
  • an applicant seeking a higher qualification than the highest qualification already held is eligible for the Victorian Training Guarantee.

Fees for Government funded positions

For eligible participants. Training is provided with Victorian & Commonwealth Government funding. People with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

The fees are set for each calendar year, and you normally pay according to the year when you will do the training.  If your course lasts more than one year, you may pay a new tuition fee at the start of the new year, at a new hourly rate.

Traineeships(all courses taken as part of a traineeship training contract, at any level)

SkillsBuilding(most non-apprenticeship Certificate III and IV courses) 

Tuition fee $187.50
Resource fees $250.00 or pay as you go

Entry Requirements for domestic students

Hairdresser who currently holds a WRH30109 Certificate III in Hairdressing or equivalent

Training and assessment pathway

This involves completing a structured training program and a formative and summative assessment. A formative assessment takes place over a period of time like role play, written test and demonstration all together the cumulative results may contribute to the summative assessment of the units.

Delivery Modes:

Face to face delivery mode off the job learning of theoretical and practical components. The WRH40109 Certificate IV in Hairdressing program is largely practical in nature and provides the opportunity for participants to practice the skill gained as part of the program in a simulated salon environment.

Online Component

Much of the theoretical content is delivered online; student will need access to a computer. Students who do not have computer access will need to purchase learner guides.

Employability Skills

 

Employability Skills are embedded in the hairdressing national training package qualifications. Duration

& Contact Hours Per week

15  Weeks

25 Hours Per Week. A student has to maintain an attendance of 80% of his/her study.

Work Experience

Experience is one thing salons often find lacking when students leave college. BHA students gain essential practical skills and work experience in our Student Salon so they are well prepared and enter the workforce with confidence.

Outcome of course

Upon completion of the course students will receive a WRH40109 Certificate IV in Hairdressing Qualification.
The students who attain this qualification will be able to work in a fully operating salon providing hairdressing services.
