We focus on the practical hands on skills required to create great Hairdressers, Beauty Therapists and Makeup Artists in a friendly and relaxed environment. Our commitment to the graduates of our Hairdressing School in Melbourne, our Beauty therapy, Makeup students is to create industry recognised graduates.
Our courses are nationally recognised certificate courses designed for the Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Makeup environments. The Academy offers a range of courses from Certificate II to Diploma level.
We deliver apprenticeships, traineeships, full time and part time courses to domestic students in a flexible way to suit the needs of the student and employer. Our training school takes us from our state of the art college environment to the individual one on one training in the workplace.

WRH20109 Certificate II in Hairdressing
This is the entry level program into the hairdressing industry. With this certificate you will work under supervision, providing assistance to other operators, interacting with customers and providing customer service, following workplace safety procedures, providing assistance to colleagues and developing hairdressing industry knowledge. For the person wishing to gain a pre-vocational qualification or an understanding of hairdressing prior to obtaining full-time employment as a hairdressing, apprentice or full-time trainee in the hairdressing industry.
How will this course advance my career?
The training you will receive while studying this program will increase your chances of finding employment as a level one apprentice hairdresser or salon assistant. You will receive the education and skills necessary to assist qualified hairdressers in the salon environment.
You will also have the opportunity to continue studying and have units accredited towards a Certificate III in Hairdressing, fast-tracking your completion.
WRH30109 Certificate III in Hairdressing
This is the National qualification to work as a hairdresser;
The Certificate III in Hairdressing is the standard entry level qualification for the hairdressing industry.
Functions in this qualification would involve employment as a hairdresser; with responsibility for the supervision of others, treating hair and scalp, ensuring a safe working environment, selling products and services, haircutting, giving clients advice styling, dressing & designing hair styles , performing permanent wave & chemical reformation services, colour and lightening hair and co-ordinating a salon team.
How will this course advance my career?
Graduating from the Certificate III in Hairdressing program, you will be able to enter the industry as a fully qualified hairdresser. The training you receive while studying this course will give you the educational equivalent of having completed an apprenticeship or traineeship.
As well as thorough practical training you will also have the opportunity to further your education by combining your Certificate III in Hairdressing with either a Certificate IV in Hairdressing and/or a Diploma in Hairdressing Salon Management to finish with multiple awards and fast-track your study time.
WRH40109 Certificate IV in Hairdressing
For hairdressers who have completed Certificate III and who wish to enhance & extend their training and career options. Advanced skills gained including hair extensions and make-up application. Complex technical skills and knowledge of hairdressing is expanded and you would be employed as a highly skilled hairdresser, technical adviser with a hairdressing products company or independently as a freelance session stylist. Some of these skills include haircutting, hair design, hair colouring, complex colour correction, hair extensions, chemical reformation, and make-up application.
How will this course advance my career?
Upon completion of this certificate course you will be ready to enter the hairdressing industry as a qualified hairdresser. You will have specialised skills and training in hair design and beauty as well as salon management, so you can become a salon owner or trainer.
Practical training in a commercial environment, as offered in this program, will also give you high recognition in the hairdressing industry once you finish your study.
WRH50109 Diploma of Hairdressing Salon Management
This is the ultimate Hairdressing qualification. It gives you the knowledge and ability to manage a salon or own and operate your own salon, with advantage over existing manager/owners who don’t have this level of training, because you will have developed skills and knowledge in relation to service and sales. With this qualification not only do you have a broad range of knowledge and skills, but you also will be able to manage human resource programs. This qualification will aid you in building the business, in leading and developing the team, developing and implementing marketing activities, and manage occupational health and safety requirements.
How will this course advance my career?
Upon completion of this program you will have the education and training to become a salon or business manager.
The business acumen you receive while studying this course will allow you to take your skills and turn them into a viable business. You will also have the ability to further your education in hairdressing by combining electives from the BHA Beauty Therapy course, allowing you to tailor your skills to your career needs and expand your options.
You will also have the opportunity to gain direct credit into the Certificate III in Hairdressing program, finishing with multiple awards and fast-tracking your completion time.
